Fusion at College Park- Jack Tan’s

Generally speaking, the only time I really head over to college park is to grab a sandwich from Banh Mi Boys & bubble tea from Cha Time during my lunch break. But not too long ago I was introduced to a fusion place called Jack Tan’s (Facebook)  by Khai To! He invited to come in and sample a few of his delicacies at his restaurant. Located, at the south west corner of Bay & College, Khai To’s prides himself for serving authentic Thai and Vietnamese foods.

Thai Crispy Soft Shell Crab ($10.95)

Grilled Satay Chicken Skewers ($5.95)

Grilled XO Oyster ($6.95)

Garlic Butter Oyster on a sizzling plate ($6.95)

Pineapple Chicken Fried Rice ($12.95)

Chicken Pad Thai ($10.95)

Stir fried beef with spicy sauce ($11.99)

My verdict: Some dishes stood out more than others. My favourites included the grilled chicken skewers and the garlic butter oyster! I wouldn’t mind having a few more rounds of those dishes. I thought the chicken pad thai and the pineapple fried rice were okay. The pineapple fried rice lacked contrast in texture – perhaps an addition of cashews would have done it just right.

Jack Tan’s also have a lunch menu full of daily specials – with 15% off. A great steal if you’re looking for a cheaper yet relaxing space to enjoy a meal.
