Lake House Restaurant @ Niagara on the lake!

I’m sure many of you have seen Lake House Restaurant along the highway on your way to Niagara Falls. That’s how we spotted it the first time but we made an effort to just visit this restaurant the second time around. Looking back to my overall experience here, there’s only 2 words that come to mind: relaxing and calm. There is just something about eating on the patio or inside the restaurant with a window view and looking out to the calm lake. There’s a lot of places that offer an ocean/lake view in downtown Toronto but it’s just different knowing the restaurant is far away from the hustle and bustle setting. I almost want to compare the atmosphere here like going to a spa.

Bread to Start

Classic Caesar Salad ($8.95)

  • with a creamy garlic dressing, bacon, croutons and Parmesan cheese

Fresh P.E.I Mussels ($12.95)

  • steamed with garlic, diced tomato, Bermuda onion and white wine

Special Of the Day: Smoked Salmon Pizza & arugula salad

Chicken Panini ($17.95)

  • with tzatziki, bacon, provolone cheese, lettuce and tomato on a grilled ciabiatta bun. Served with organic baby greens and sweet potato fries

Creme Brulee ($9.00)

  • Rich vanilla custard with a caramelized sugar crust.

We all enjoyed our selections but there was nothing in particular to write home about. I wouldn’t necessarily make the trek just to visit Lake House but if we were passing by it again in the future, I wouldn’t hesitate to make a visit here. Decent comfort food with a spectacular view and relaxing atmosphere. (Sometimes you really need it to get away from the city)
