Menu Tasting @ Terra Restaurant

Last month I had the pleasure of attending a menu tasting at Terra Restaurant! Located in the heart of Thornhill, Terra has developed a reputation as one of the best restaurants in the GTA – specifically the best steaks in the GTA. Luckily enough for me,I had the opportunity to celebrate their 20th anniversary last month whilst sampling a wide array of their speciality items.

A little background on Terra – Since opening in 1995, as mentioned above, Terra has been known for having the best steaks in town.  Led by President and Partner Ian Chase; Executive Chef and Proprietor Stephen Perrin and Maitre d’ and Partner Michael De Tommaso, Terra’s stature and reputation have stood the test of time through constant innovation, expansion, strict culinary standards and service that consistently surpasses expectation.

All in all – we both overall enjoyed our dining experience here at Terra. Although initially upon arrival, the restaurant gave off a slight pretentious feeling, it quickly went away as our server came over and greeted us warmly. He carefully gave us a run down of the menu and also mentioned his recommendations. We both enjoyed our selections but some more than others. My favourite of the evening included the scallop and smoked pork belly appetizer. The mustard sauce was incredibly creamy complimenting the perfectly seared scallops. Moving on to my main – seafood pasta. I rarely order pasta that doesn’t come saucy. But for the first time, I enjoyed a light pasta that wasn’t drench in any sauce. This brought out the natural taste and aroma of all the seafood.

I’m happy to have visited Terra Restaurant and to add it to my list of fine dining restaurants in Thornhill.
