Hong Kong Travels: Simply Life

I’m not entirely sure when my next trip to Hong Kong will be. However, Simply Life is already on my top list of the places to revisit. This particular location that I keep coming back to is the one located on the top level by the food court of Festival Walk (Kowloon Tong). My post is compiled of numerous visits from my 3 week trip! Everything about this place is so good even my parents insisted on coming back (and this never happens!)

Simply Life serves a wide variety of freshly baked handmade European style breads, pastries and simple eats. When I say fresh – I literally mean you can see them making it in a HUGE display (See Below). I was standing there for quite some time – amazed at the amount of detail were put into these desserts!

I’ve only ever been to this particular location – I’m not sure if every location in Hong Kong has a huge display or even the same set up. So this location at Festival Walk is a long and narrow venue with an open kitchen set up inside. I always opt to sit in their “patio” just so I can get a glimpse of everything.

Every visit was during lunch/brunch hours on a weekday – I ensured I was there as soon as it opened. Just because they are known for crazy line ups during weekends – approximately 45mins wait!

During their weekday lunches/brunches – they always have set daily deals and a regular menu that you can feel free to order from any time.

Homemade Iced Tea

Daily Soup: Tomato Soup

Daily Salad

Daily Soup: Butternut Squash

Beef Burger with Bacon and Cheddar Cheese

Pan Fried Snapper with Roasted Potatoes and Lemon Butter Sauce

Handmade Linguine with Crabmeat and Bell Peppers, Capers, White Wine Sauce

Fish and Chips

Green Tea Avocado Cake ($32 HKD $4.50 CAD approx)

  • I know I only have one pictures of this pieces of cake – but I honestly had this every other day!
  • There’s a subtle hint of avocado in this green tea cake – definitely one of the smoothest, creamiest yet lightest indulgent I’ve ever had!

Pineapple Yoghurt Cup

One your way out, you’ll catch a galore of display of cakes!!

Of course, I had get more of my favourite green tea avocado cake to go along side with a

Green Tea Avocado Cake (Left) & Black Sesame Mousse Cake (right) ($32 HKD $4.50 CAD each)

Great brunch food. Relaxing vibe. Even better desserts. I love SimplyLife – its pretty hard to find any desserts to top the ones I’ve had at Simply Life.

Enjoy the little
things, for one
day you may
look back and
realise they
were the big
things.
