Holy Chuck

There has been crazy amount of burger talk over the past year and which restaurant offers THE BEST burger in the city. I’m definitely no burger – expert nor am I THAT big of a burger fan – but I’m always down for trying something new. According to an article published last year by TorontoLife.com, The Cowlorie Burger at Holy Chuck (@HOLYCHUCKBURGER) was ranked #5 putting Burger Priest’s Double Cheeseburger in 6th place! – so of course, I had to witness this burger- sanity at Holy Chuck myself.

Holy Chuck located at the major intersections of Yonge and St. Claire (Midtown), is a bit out of the way for some but its honestly just steps away from the subway.

I’m sure most of you guys heard about the Go Chuck Yourself Challenge! It’s very simple. All you need to do is finish their  “Go Chuck Yourself Burger” in the picture shown below and any specialty milkshake within 6 minutes! and they will put your picture on their Wall of FAME or shame =)

THIS BURGER CONSISTS OF: 6 PATTIES, 6 CHEESE, TRIPLE BACON, CARAMELIZED ONIONS & STACKED BETWEEN THREE GRILLED CHEESE SANDWICHES!!

Sounds easy right?

{Specialty Shakes} Nutella & Salted Caramel ($5.49)

  • Made with 100% real ice cream (95% ice cream, 5% milk)
  • This milkshake made me literally stop after my first taste and linger
  • It was a creamy elixir as it was blended to the perfect texture and right consistency of Nutella

The Holy Chuck (Signature) ($9.99)

  • Double Cheeseburger with bacon & caramelized onions (Please don’t add any toppings)
  • I decided to go with their signature burger – their patties are hand rolled, made of aged high quality steak and ground fresh every hour
  • So yes these freshly made burgers were very hot and juicy – but incredibly greasy
  • The buns had indeed soaked up the grease from the patty and after taking my first bite  I noticed slight drippings from my burger
  • Many people say the burgers here are tasteless and greasy. I agree to the greasy part but man my burger was far far away from tasteless – strong patty flavours with the perfect addition of caramelized onions – nonetheless it was an uber good – fatty experience

Poutine ($5.99)

  • With real Quebec cheese curds on homemade fresh hand cut fries
  • This poutine was really appetizing and addictive – the gravy was not your average kind and with the melted cheese curds smothered across the fresh hand cut fries – I was in heaven =O

The Big Bad Wolf ($9.99)

  • Two patties fried with ball park mustard topped with caramelized onions, cheese and caramelized crispy mustard

Holy Chuck Fries ($5.99)

  • Bacon, Double cheese & topped with veal cheek vino chili (Mild or spicy; spicy has bacon)

The Dirty Drunken Half-Breed ($12.99)

  • The half-breed topped with a veal cheek vino chili (Mild of spicy; spicy has bacon)

I think there was a mutual consensus among the group that the burgers here were solid though I personally found mine a bit greasy but it was a very satisfying indulgent. I would come back any day when I feel like pigging out and yes yes the milkshakes here are a musty try along with their poutine =)

I’m definitely looking forward to your review because I’ve never actually been to BP lol It’s been on the list for a while but never made the effort to go.

        • i’ll let u know when I get the BP review up. you should def give them a try though. it use be cooler, when items were still quite”secret” and u hear people order something and u don’t know what it is now everything is in the open – takes the fun out of it
